Afternoon with the Grandparents...

Can't wait to get this kiddo into soccer....

We spent another lazy summer afternoon with the grandparents., enjoying the end of summer.  Brandon kept Grandpa busy creating electrical masterpieces, picture a light switch and siren, while Mason was busy trying to perfect his swimming skills!  Mason has gotten so brave with the water, he now likes to "jump" into the pool, as long as Daddy is there to catch him!  Thanks Nana and Grandpa for a great afternoon!

Today we met Kevin for lunch and got to visit his new office!  Mason insisted on wearing his swimming goggles the ENTIRE time we were there, I'm sure his co-workers were amused.  And as you can see he has also taking to wearing his winter weather gloves during the summer, can even get them on all by himself.  He calls them his "skating" gloves....not too sure where he came up with that.

Brandon still LOVES to help bake and taste test, of course!  Today we made Giada's apricot bars and they were worth every single calorie!

1st day of Preschool/Daycare

We let both kiddos pick out their own backpacks and lunch bags!

Yay, Brandon started preschool at St Mark's Early Childhood Center today!!!!  He did great at drop-off (wish I could say the same for Momma which seems silly as he has been in daycare since he was 6 months old!) and looked pretty happy when I picked him up after work.  He likes his preschool teacher (Mrs Pegnam), seems excited about learning (of course), and seems happy with the other daycare providers as well.  I know it will just take a little time for him to make friends.
A big thanks to Daddy for helping with drop-off this am, he and Mason did well also, no tears!  Mason was so cute when I picked him up from his class.  He was sitting at their little table, eating a snack and asking Brandon where he had been at all day.  The boys were pretty much inseparable the rest of the evening since they had spent the entire day apart. 
The boys both had a great first day and hopefully the second day will be just as good.  Now I just have to think outside the box for lunches while adhering to my RD ways!!!!

We enrolled Brandon in AYSO and are looking forward to starting practice at the end of the month!  He was super excited to pick out his shin guards and soccer ball, and this past weekend was so excited to wear them while we practiced in the backyard!  Look out AYSO, Mason already has great coordination with running and kicking the ball, too bad he is too young this year.

I took the day off of work to spend with the boys before we start at our new daycare/preschool, so we decided to brave the heat and go to the zoo!  Poor Daddy, he always misses the fun stuff.  Today's favorite exhibit, the giraffes and the flamingos!  We can't wait to come back when it is a little cooler.
I insisted on getting a couple photos of the boys together.....it was tough and took some convincing of Mason but we got a few.  Too bad they both can't stand still, look at the camera, and smile all at the same time!

It was another beautiful day visiting with Great Grandma and Grandma.  As always, Brandon helped water all the potted plants, Mason rode his bike, and we had a delicious dinner and dessert!  The boys didn't mind the afternoon heat, thanks to the sprinklers!  It only took a little convincing to get them to run through and cool off!  Ah, we do love the long days of summer, too bad it's so stinking hot here!
