Mason had his 4 yr old well check today! He got his kinder vaccinations (although he won't start kinder until 2016!!!), flu mist, passed his vision and hearing check, and got two stickers and two lollipops for being so brave while getting three shots!
He is 43 3/4 inches tall and weighs 46.5 lbs!!!! Yep, that's right, this kid is STILL in the 97% for both ht and wt....just like his brother at this age. He is wearing a boys size 5 and a size 1 shoe.
Dr G says Mason is right on track. He has a huge vocabulary, can count into the teens, and can recognize some letters and numbers, and has a great imagination. He still loves to read books, often bringing me five or more at a time! His recent favorites are the
Llama, Llama series of books, thanks to our regular ordering of the scholastic books. He likes to dress himself, brush his teeth, and is even getting better at cleaning himself after using the potty, when he is feeling like a big boy.
He is doing well in the 3 yr old preschool class according to Mrs Pitcher. He will have another year of 4 yr old preschool thanks to the age cut off for kinder. He will likely remain in Ms Shanna's 3 yr old class until there is room in the four's class for daycare. He has two buddies, Luke and Sammy, that he should transition with into the four's room.
He is my "gross-motor" skills kiddo. I say this because, unlike Brandon, Mason would rather be driving his cars/tractors, or running around the yard than to sit with me and color/paint/create! Boo for me, looks like I am without a crafting buddy, at least while B is at school. He is doing well with swim lessons at Demont, he really likes his instructor, Jessica. I am hoping to keep the boys in swim until the spring when it warms up again.
Mason is less and less prone to coming to our room at night, although he will visit me if he needs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I, of course, still love to cuddle him at night as I know these special moments are sure to come to an end soon!
