Family Fun Night @ St Mark's

Every year the boys preschool and daycare, St Mark's, holds Family Fun Night.  They host a Mexican food dinner, a DJ, and a silent auction.  We dutifully contributed to each basket being complied for auction, we purchased our dinner tickets, and we showed up to have a good time!

The boys have quite a few little friends and spent the first hour running around and playing.  While dinner was being served, the DJ got most all the kiddos to stand up and sing along and dance to various songs.  Any guess for which song had the most kids singing to it?  Yep, you probably guessed it, "Let it go" from Frozen!  Our boys were either eating their dinner or standing off to the side, lost among their own world during this!

I had bid on two baskets, one solely because no other parent had bid, the other because we "needed" that basket (Brandon's exact words, not mine).   Turns our we won both baskets....the "Sports" and "Beach/pool" baskets!  I hope all this "donating" is tax deductible!!!!!

It has been a great first year with St Mark's.  The boys have made some friends, who will unfortunately all be heading in different directions for kinder but we too have made some friends, and reconnected with some old friends from high school.  Mason and his friends will continue to move through St Mark's Program and Brandon will likely reconnect with new friends via play-dates (Lauren), through sports (Alec), and as he progresses through school!

Brandon will definitely miss Mrs. Pegnam and the friends he has made in her class.  She tells us "he is more than ready for kindergarten" but it all seems so overwhelming to me!  I will miss spending my extra time with him but he tells me he is excited for kindergarten...poor kiddos doesn't realize he will spent five days a week at school!  Guess this means in the future our summers will be that much more special together.

I have been trying "not to wish away what someday I will miss".....thanks Facebook for the little reminders on being a mommy to a toddler.
