Look out 1st grade, here Brandon comes!!!

Brandon is now a first grader!  He started the year off with a temporary teacher, Mrs Olafson, and is now settled into a permanent class with Mrs Edmiston.  He is excited for the school year, to see old friends (make new friends), and to have art and science class again.  We seemed to have done well keeping up our skills learned from kinder over the summer and this year seems like it will be packed with lots of learning, understanding consequences of at school behaviors (both good & bad), and lots of reading!  Lucky for me, Brandon loves to read about science, chemistry, electronics, the weather, the planets, the human body.....you name it and he wants to learn about it!  Just the other night he picked out a book sent to us by Aunt Gail, it had a variety of topics but he specifically wanted me to read to him about Albert Einstein and the periodic table.  Oh my little nerdy science kid!
He still loves to ride the bus, to have Momma pack his lunch EVERY day, and he especially loves early release Wednesdays!  Fortunately, since I was able to reduce my hours to part time this year, we do not need the CEP/PAL program, which I love because it means being home with Brandon every aftenoon!  It has really helped our routine, homework and reading is less of a struggle and the evening hours seems less hectic.
Thank you Grandma Diane for ALL your help!  We really appreciate you and ALL you do for us!!!
