outdoor fun

Brandon wasn't too fond of the slide or pool at Sarah's 4th birthday party. Of course, about the time he warmed up to everbody we were getting ready to leave.
Brandon has been re-discovering toys that have been laying around the house for months...and there is Jake, just making sure there are no crumbs in those toys.

Lovin' the water

it is finally hot enough to warrant playing in the water. Brandon managed to start "disassembling" his new water toy before it was even out of the package. I take that as a sign of a good toy.
Jake couldn't help himself, he just had to play in the water too. Lily wasn't to interested in the water but loves spending time in the lake (when we go camping).

Aren't I too cute?

So sleepy

I've been trying to get a picture of Brandon just relaxing in his car seat but I usually don't have the camera with me. A few weeks ago he was just hanging out in his seat with both arms behind his head and his legs crossed at the ankle, it was too cute.

and the gender is....

Kevin, Brandon, and I had our 19 week ultrasound today. Brandon is going to have a little BROTHER. Yep, that's right, another BOY.....we are excited but surprised. I really had thought all along that this was going to be a little girl, since this pregnancy has been so different.
The ultrasound went well except we will be returning @ 30 weeks for another ultrasound to check the position of the placenta. She referred to it as a marginal placenta but had said that there is a 95% chance that it will "move up" and not be a cause for a c-section. We'll see in 10 weeks!!! The baby is growing just fine, estimated to be ~10oz, estimated to be 19 weeks and 4 days (I am 19 weeks today), and
moving around a lot. If we are lucky, he will be born on Grandma Payne's birthday or Aunt Kim's Birthday!
Now we need to think of a name and a bedroom theme....

Mother's Day 2010

The Payne family spent the Saturday before Mother's Day at The Reid Park Zoo followed by a picnic at Reid Park. It was a busy day at the zoo but I couldn't resist getting a picture of Brandon on the bronze elephant
Here are three of Brian and Peggy's four kids, Easton, Melanie, and Taylor (baby Ashley was sound asleep and couldn't be disturbed!)
Kevin, Brandon, and Melanie just hanging out in the shade at the park. It's hard to get both kids to look at the camera at the same time.
We have down-sized to a smaller (umbrella) stroller for most of our outings but it didn't take Brandon long to find the buckle and spend ten minutes examining it. Lucky for us, he has not yet discovered how to undo the buckles.
Brandon had tons of fun at the park, he mostly just ran around and chased the birds (with Taylor). It was another great Mother's Day!!!

Ummm ribs!

We finally harvested all the lemons from the tree, which is good since Brandon loves to bite into them and drink the juice. He has even started working on throwing them. Lily will be very happy when Brandon can throw a ball for her!
Brandon loves his ribs...I think it was the BBQ sauce he was sucking off the rib.
Can you see his smile behind that rib???
