puppy love

Yep, just Jake making good use of a pillow on the floor!

Lilly is soooo tolerant of the boys.  Mason loves to hug them and pretend to "go for rides" on them.

She, much like Mason, is my loyal shadow.

Slip "n" Slide fun

The boys, all three of them, couldn't resist a little last days of summer fun and since we don't have a pool, the slip "n" slide will have to do!  Kevin was showing the boys how to slide into the bases!  Mason was all for it but Brandon, being Brandon, was way more cautious!

"no more pictures Momma"

The boys have mixed feelings when I pull out the camera!  Today was full of smiles, which is not always the case....some days they need "incentive" to smile for me!

Brandon, my little guy

Brandon has been so interested in the pups lately.  He loves to sit on the floor and play with them, help feed them, and just be with them!

Brandon has promoted to Lobster with Demont Swim School!  We are so proud of him and all the effort he puts in a swim lessons!

Just another night

Just another evening around the house for us.  Mason has been obsessed with this hand-me-down guitar since we got it from the Thome girls.  Brandon still loves to play with Snap Circuits and the dogs love to cuddle every chance they get!  The boys, especially B, have really taken an interest in the dogs!

Look out 1st grade, here Brandon comes!!!

Brandon is now a first grader!  He started the year off with a temporary teacher, Mrs Olafson, and is now settled into a permanent class with Mrs Edmiston.  He is excited for the school year, to see old friends (make new friends), and to have art and science class again.  We seemed to have done well keeping up our skills learned from kinder over the summer and this year seems like it will be packed with lots of learning, understanding consequences of at school behaviors (both good & bad), and lots of reading!  Lucky for me, Brandon loves to read about science, chemistry, electronics, the weather, the planets, the human body.....you name it and he wants to learn about it!  Just the other night he picked out a book sent to us by Aunt Gail, it had a variety of topics but he specifically wanted me to read to him about Albert Einstein and the periodic table.  Oh my little nerdy science kid!
He still loves to ride the bus, to have Momma pack his lunch EVERY day, and he especially loves early release Wednesdays!  Fortunately, since I was able to reduce my hours to part time this year, we do not need the CEP/PAL program, which I love because it means being home with Brandon every aftenoon!  It has really helped our routine, homework and reading is less of a struggle and the evening hours seems less hectic.
Thank you Grandma Diane for ALL your help!  We really appreciate you and ALL you do for us!!!

Cali-morning at the tide pools

We spent an early, overcast morning at the tide pools.  We found little crabs, tiny fish, sea anemonies, and empty urchin shells.
someone loves the water

The boys decided to build a sand castle, this is a picture in it's early stage however an hour or two later it was much bigger and only took a couple big waves as the tide came back on to wipe it out!

This is as brave as Brandon got on his own!

ahhhh, it's a wave, you might get wet....run

tuckered out from an early morning at the beach

goodbye tide pools, until next time
We had so much fun in Anaheim!  It was nice to spend the extra time with my family and Diane during this trip.  Thank you to Aunt Sharon (Bruce) for letting us stay at your house, feeding us, and being so generous, we really appreciate it!  Also a special thank you Diane and Sharon for watching the kiddos so Kevin and I could have an evening together, it was wonderful.

Mason got brave this trip and decided he did not need a "noodle" to swim.  He is now fearless, jumping into the pool and swimming to the edge, even in the deep end.  Brandon and Mason still favor their Momma and baby snake beadie babies and show their Abolone shells to anyone who comes by the house.
